Richard Thompson is without a doubt one of the most talented cartoonists of our time. His work is wonderfully rendered with a whimsical warmth that is more often than not just down right hilarious. His Cul de Sac comic strip has vaulted, in a difficult economy, to one of the fastest growing strips in the world. Richard recently retooled his website and it is an absolute blast and worth a bookmark in your browser. You can see it here at culdesacart.com
Tom Spurgeon over at the Comics Reporter has this terrific interview with Richard that is an absolutely must read. Most everything on Tom’s site is a must read. His blog is that good. Any way you can see the Richard Thompson’s interview here.
My favorite work that Richard does is his Richard’s Poor Almanac feature that runs weekly in the Washington Post. Insightful and hilarious it nails the essence of what life is like living in the nation’s capital. Richard has a bunch of cool stuff available on Amazon. If got room in the budget its terrific entertainment for your money. Worth every Penny. I recommend you go here first, put it in your cart and then wander over here and add one of these. And if you feel like splurging Richards art is for sale on his site. One last Richard Thompson essential would be bookmarking this.
